4 things to do on your wedding morning

Wedding mornings are busy enough, you always need to overestimate your timings to make sure you have plenty of time. That said if there’s multiple people getting ready it’s always nice to have something to do that isn’t stressful or strenuous….and can usually make for great photos too!

Have a drink

Whatever you fancy…..a good cuppa, champagne, shots, bourbon….choose your poison. It creates a lovely set of photos, gives people something to do which usually helps with nerves and you can have a good chat and talk at the same time.

Jade & Nathan got married at Mirfield Monastery in West Yorkshire and both opted for a good cuppa. The perfect opportunity for Jade to use her wife mug and the guys added a few extra shots for fun.

Eat something

Always have something to eat, even if it’s just something to nibble on and you don’t feel like it.

Your next proper meal is likely to be your wedding breakfast at the reception or restaurant and with the all the excitement and activities, it’s a long wait and the last thing you want to be on your wedding day is hangry!

You can have something prepared in advance like a fruit selection, pastries, biscuits, cooked breakfast or order something in.

There are some incredible companies around if you’re looking for something special like The Little Green Platter Company.

Play a game

I don’t mean bring the PlayStation but a deck of cards can go a long way when it comes to relaxing whilst you wait. When Kat & Andy got married at Wentbridge House Hotel in Pontefract last year, the guys spent a good 30 minutes playing cards whilst the girls got in their robes and watch Kat get ready.

Give Gifts

This is such a lovely thing to do and delivered a fair few myself. But exchanging gifts, cards or letters is a really thoughtful way of letting the other know that you’re thinking of them.

Andy received bespoke cuff links so he could keep his dad with him throughout the day and Amy received beautiful flowers from Ben ahead of their ceremony at Holmfield Arms in Wakefield. Bespoke calligraphy for love notes and letters is a brilliant way to deliver your words beautifully too! These are by My Billet Doux or you can go all out surprise your other half with transport of their dreams like Michael did for Charlotte for her ride to Hoyle Court in Shipley, West Yorkshire.

Most importantly….the best thing you can do is to relax and enjoy the moments and the day ahead.
